Today, concepts such as “green”, “eco-sustainability” or “compatibility” risk being considered nothing more than trendy words, rather than concrete facts capable of making a real contribution to environmental protection. That is why certifications play a fundamental role in our search for experiences that bring us back in close contact with nature and at the same time can be compatible with it, with its rhythms and needs. Together with La Tordera Winery<\/a><\/span>, we went to find out what it means to commit wholeheartedly to the protection of biorhythms and the conservation of the territory.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the CasaClima Wine protocol?<\/b><\/h3>\n

The CasaClima agency<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/b>is an entity of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano that deals with carrying out energy certifications on buildings and is very active in the organization of initiatives to inform and raise awareness about issues such as energy efficiency and construction quality to protect the climate. The CasaClima Wine certification is a protocol dedicated to ensuring the sustainability of the structures intended for wine production. The evaluation involves strict requirements related to energy efficiency and ecological and socio-cultural quality of buildings and the working environment. CasaClima Wine ensures that the wine has been produced in conditions that take into account both man and nature, using light and recyclable packaging materials, as well as promoting green culture among employees, guaranteeing them comfort and healthiness within the working spaces.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Tordera experience, a sustainable winery.<\/b><\/h3>\n

Among the facilities that have obtained the CasaClima Wine certification, we also find one of the BikeandTaste partners. La Tordera is a friendly farm that stands in the hills of Valdobbiadene, in the heart of the production of Prosecco Superiore DOCG, and their cellar has been built and expanded in accordance to the values of eco-sustainability and respect for the territory. The structure is made of wood and guarantees excellent insulation, avoiding heat exchanges between inside and outside. In addition to this, thanks to the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof, the company can count on a 70% energy autonomy, using solar power for different phases of production activity. The water, used in the washing of the tanks and bottling, is collected to be reused for irrigation while the company’s spaces are heated with a\u00a0 wood boiler fueled with raw materials coming from the nearby forest. A fundamental operation to preserve the health of the wood.<\/span><\/p>\n

The winery is also making sure of drastically reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. In fact, it uses recycled glass for sparkling wine bottles \u2013 this allows a lower melting temperature and less dispersion \u2013 and packaging with 100% recycled paper or with untreated dried pine wood.<\/span><\/p>\n
